The Peace
Black Power
The Peace – Black Power (Now‑Again, NA 5130). A blazing Zamrock time capsule from 1973/75: garage‑raw guitars, James Brown‑tight rhythm section, and melodies that swing between soulful optimism and scorched‑earth rock. Cut at Malachite Film Studios in Chingola and originally issued on Zambia Music Parlour, the album channels the euphoria and turbulence of post‑independence Zambia into cathartic songs—equal parts psych fuzz, Afro‑funk pulse and street‑corner harmony. Meticulously licensed and restored by Now‑Again, this reissue returns a foundational Central African rock statement to the turntable where it belongs.
