Glenn Underground
The Jerusalem EPs (35th Anniversary Edition)
The Jerusalem EP's 35th Anniversary Smokey Vinyl Edition w/ OBI-Strip
As part a heavy reissues campaign of his best works, Chicago mainstay Glenn Underground recalls a critical devotional period with 'The Jerusalem EPs', now reissued in full LP format. 1990s South Side Chicago was a landing strip for spiritual jazz, Black consciousness and Pan-Africanism, in which Glenn was immersed. Then, new Judeo-Christian conversations would mingle and immix, mortar-setting the ideas that fed Chicago's best new music of the era. Exile and enslavement narratives fold like frank truths on tables here, as angelic acid jazz motifs terp above the ears like the leftover boogyings-on of a clean conscience.
